TRANSMIT in a few words

TRANSMIT is a multi-partner Marie Curie ITN project, funded within the frame of H2020 program, that aims to create a network of 10 beneficiaries from 7 different countries, among which 7 world-leading basic science labs, 3 private SMEs and 4 associate partners that will provide for all trainees the most fertile training environment.

More specifically TRANSMIT objectives are:

  • to educate a young generation of scientists in the appreciation and dissection of the multifaceted aspects of metabolism in cancer;
  • to implement up-to-date and innovative technologies and integrated methodologies in the field of mitochondrial physiopathology to dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and generate animal models;
  • to develop career pathways in order to fill in the current need for researchers with an all-round knowledge of both biological, clinical and managerial issues, also related to gender balance;
  • to foster communication between researchers and cancer patients national and international associations and foundations, because patients' needs are very important for us to get research closer to them and their families.

As Marie Curie once said: ''You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals''. This is exactly the spirit of TRANSMIT: we strongly believe in training, research and communication as a tool for a sound research and, ultimately, for a better life.

With this hope in our hearts, we would like to wish you all a happy new year!
